Spanish Advisory Meeting on Justice With Children: Advancing Towards Inclusive Justice With Children

The Spanish Advisory Meeting for the World Congress on Justice With Children which took place on March 16th and 17th, 2023, in Madrid, aimed to review and delve into the selected priorities within an inclusive action agenda linking gender, justice, and children’s rights. The focus was primarily on Spain but connected to lessons learned in the Ibero-American region and successful experiences implemented in Mauritania. This gathering was part of the framework of the Agreement financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation in Mauritania, focusing on 'Ensuring the right to access justice for children and young people in conflict with the law, preventing radicalization and violence, especially against women and girls.' During this meeting, an innovative experience was proposed in Spain, employing a simulation methodology (Youth Experiential Learning Simulation (YexLS)) that allowed attendees to 'walk on the shoes' of a child navigating the social services, education, health and justice systems.

Additionally, the "Agenda for Action: Childhood and Inclusive Justice with a Gender Focus: Transforming Challenges into Progress" was presented, along with a proposed roadmap to collaboratively and specifically address the priorities identified by the experts and participants at the event.
