2009 Lima Declaration on Restorative Juvenile Justice

This declaration reflects the deliberations of the First World Congress on Restorative Juvenile Justice where child justice professionals have exchanged on advocacy, practices as well as policies regarding restorative juvenile justice. The Declaration wrapped up the basic rights of children in the context of juvenile justice and the concept of restorative justice, including expressing some major concerns in relation to deprivation of liberty. Moreover, it also contains a set of recommendations for further actions to promote, develop and implement the restorative approach as an integral part of juvenile justice.
